Stylish protection that actually works
Ever noticed how many door canopies look like they’ve been slapped on as an afterthought? Those plastic monstrosities or flimsy metal things that rattle in the wind and look dated the moment they’re up.
Our glass door canopies are different. They’re architectural features that enhance your entrance rather than apologising for being there. SHP have installed hundreds of these over the years, and they transform entranceways from boring to brilliant.

Built to last, not just to sell
We’ve seen too many cheap canopies that start to look tatty after a year or two. Discoloured plastic, rusting fixings, sagging structures – not a good look for the entrance to your home.
Our glass door canopies are built differently. The brackets and fixings are 316-grade stainless steel – the same stuff used in marine environments. They won’t rust, discolour or deteriorate, even in coastal areas.
The glass itself is virtually maintenance-free. No painting, no treating, no replacing panels that have rotted or warped. Just the occasional wipe down to keep it looking its best.
These aren’t the cheapest canopies you’ll find, I’ll admit that upfront. But they’re probably the last ones you’ll ever need to buy. When you factor in the lifespan, they’re actually cracking value.
Contact UsGlass might seem an odd choice if you’ve never seen a glass canopy before. “Won’t it break? How does it keep the rain off? Is it safe?”
Trust us, these aren’t your regular window panes. We use 13.5mm toughened laminated glass that’s built to handle whatever the British weather throws at it. Snow loads, hail, falling branches – I’ve seen these canopies shrug it all off.
The glass is slightly tinted to reduce glare and heat build-up in summer, but still lets plenty of natural light through. That means your entrance stays bright and welcoming, not dark and gloomy like with solid canopies.
And let’s be honest – they just look better. Clean, contemporary lines that complement both modern and traditional properties. No wonder architects specify them so often these days.
Every entrance is different, which is why we offer a range of sizes and fixing options:
Wall-mounted canopies
The most popular choice. These fix directly to the wall above your door with robust stainless brackets. Clean, simple and effective.
Extended bracket systems
For doors with porches or deeper entrances that need more coverage. The brackets extend further from the wall to give you more protection.
Bespoke sizes
Don’t see the exact dimensions you need? Give us a shout. We can usually sort custom sizes without it costing the earth.
Not sure which would work best for your entrance? Send us a photo and rough measurements. We’ll recommend the right option based on what we’ve seen work in similar situations.
Fitting these canopies isn’t complicated, but it needs doing properly. The key is making sure you fix into something solid – brick, block or structural timber, not just cladding or render.
We provide detailed fitting instructions with each canopy, and all the fixings you’ll need for standard installations. You’ll need a decent drill, spirit level, and ideally a mate to help hold things while you mark and fix.
If you’re not confident with drilling into your walls or working at height, get a builder or handyman in. It’s usually a couple of hours’ work for someone who knows what they’re doing.
A quality entrance sets the tone for your whole property. It’s the first thing visitors see up close, and the last thing you see when you leave. Worth getting right, isn’t it?

Got questions? Give us a call. We’d rather spend five minutes helping you choose the right canopy than have you order something that’s not quite right. We’re helpful like that.
